Churches: Hidden Gems Walk

st-james-spanish-place

We see inside 4 wonderful churches including perhaps the 3 most magnificently decorated ones in the whole of central London. Yet these hidden gems are remarkably little known outside of their congregations. And as well as seeing inside them, you hear all about them. And we see and hear about lots more from the outside too. There’s Anglican, Anglican Evangelical, Roman Catholic, Ukranian Greek Catholic, Jesuit, Welsh Baptist, Methodist and a once private Chapel, they’re all here. And there’s plenty of other interesting stuff to see en-route too, including a lovely memorial to 9/11, the beautiful building housing the Wallace Collection, some fine old Victorian tenements and swish Mayfair shops and houses.

Start Oxford Circus underground station
