This walk starts in what looks a most unpromising place next to the Blackwall Tunnel approach road. But we quickly take an underpass which delivers us into perhaps the most beautiful spot in the East End – Three Mills (see photo). You see the mills and the multi-waterways that meet here. We then see locks built to enable these waterways to be used in the Olympic project. Or that was the theory anyway! You hear all about what actually happened, and see how the post Olympic regeneration and ‘legacy’ is going in this area. Then we see the ‘cathedral of sewage’, which believe it or not is perhaps the most stunning piece of architecture in the whole of East London. Then we head along numerous waterways through the Olympic Park and see up close the amazing Arcelor Mittal Orbit and London Aquatic Centre. We continue with the watery theme by strolling through a lovely wetlands.
