Bermondsey leather exchange, Dickensian Borough, George Inn, London Bridge station, Old Kent Road, Only fools and Horses
You start at the only remaining medieval galleried London inn. You then follow the old horse drawn coach route out of London past Dickensian Borough towards the Old Kent Road. On the way you see something from the Great Train Robbery, and then it’s on to famous old factories and pubs, a bit of Charlie Chaplin, Henry Cooper and Only Fools & Horses. Then we head further back into history – highwaymen, Henry V and Agincourt, before seeing the oldest working class houses in London. You see the first ever pie & mash shop, still going strong today, an old church/graveyard combo, with an old mission attached. Then it’s into the old tanning area of warehouses and the leather, hide & wool exchange, Guinness buildings and a ragged school.
