Mayfair and the History of Shopping Walk

We start by strolling down posh old money Jermyn Street, before passing, and hearing the fascinating story behind, Fortnum & Masons. Then we head through beautiful Burlington Arcade to Bond Street’s famous shops where you hear some anecdotes about when your guide worked for Chanel. We then head to the very shop where Indiana Jones (well Harrison Ford & Steven Spielberg actually) bought that famous hat. Then it’s Savile Row and on to the world’s first fashion boutique, which was owned by the inventor of haute couture, modelling and the fashion industry, yet few have ever heard of her. We tell you the amazing story as to why. Then it’s time for Carnaby Street and the Swinging 60’s of the “dedicated follower of fashion.” Then we pass Liberty’s en route to finish with the daddy of modern shopping, Mr Selfridge. You hear the amazing story of how he invented modern shopping.

The walk can be booked for any time. You just need to get a little group together and then tell me when you want it.
