You don’t leave the best till last on this walk. Quite the reverse. After making your way through a nice little garden with Pepys connections, you quickly head for the star of the show, by taking a lift up to the roof of a City skyscraper to see a beautiful garden. And of course the views of London are amazing too! This garden has even received Monty Don’s seal of approval! You then head for a ruined church that has been converted into a stunning garden before heading through a tiny park which is full of history as well as flower beds. Then there are two more gardens to see, one of which is only a few yards off the beaten track yet is an amazingly quiet haven of peace and tranquility. And there’s plenty of other City history along the route – Roman ruins, an old market, churches and squares.
